A
certain class of people
is furious with President George W. Bush for removing Saddam without UN
approval. The first time America dealt with Saddam, Bush’s father did
it
the UN’s way. Let’s review how well THAT worked out.
Occasionally
in a blatant
case of aggression, the UN has grudgingly agreed to allow a modicum of
resistance. Sometimes the aggressor would simply be stopped in his
tracks.
Sometimes the spoils of conquest would actually be taken away as it was
for Saddam. Since the end of World War II -- removing the dictatorship
that started a war has always been absolutely out of the question for
the
UN.
The
majority of UN member
nations are not free. Having a regime that holds its power by force
replaced
with one that is subject to popular approval terrifies most member
states
-- especially those in the Middle East. So, once Saddam was ejected
from
Kuwait, he was allowed to retain his dictatorship.
Expecting
help or at least protection from America, the Kurds and Shi’a took up
arms
throughout Iraq against the Stalinist dictator. When Saddam realized
that
he wouldn’t be bothered so long as he kept his activities confined to
the
ground, he brutally crushed the rebellion. The rest of the world
squawked,
but did NOTHING.
War’s
Aftermath and the 1990s – Sanctions, Inspections and Death
The UN placed sanctions
upon Saddam’s regime only allowing enough to care for the Iraqi people,
but not enough to also rebuild his military. Given the choice of one or
the other, Saddam chose to starve his people while building grand
palaces
and feeding his power apparatus. With the gleeful participation of the
international press, America was successfully tarred with the blame for
the suffering that ensued for the next twelve years.
This
was all FINE for the
supporters of the UN. Weapons inspectors went in under Saddam’s
watchful
eye -- maybe they found something, maybe they didn’t. Summary
executions,
torture, malnutrition and disease festered while Saddam’s prestige
flourished
in the Arab world. The weapons inspectors were eventually ejected, but
it didn’t matter.
These
were salad days for
diplomats all over the world. They got to have their meetings and issue
their decrees and no one questioned the process -- no matter how
ineffective
or harmful it was. These were happy times for the enemies of peace and
freedom as well.
North
Korea knew that no one
would be looking too closely at its nuclear arms treaty compliance
while
Bill Clinton was in office.
Yasser Arafat’s and his PLO
were given more autonomy
than they ever had while in any Arab country. The more power they got,
the more hatred was taught to Palestinian children. HAMAS and the
Islamic
Jihad had a FIELD DAY. There were more suicide attacks than ever
before.
Whether Israel responded or not, Israel got the blame, because many
inside
and outside the Arab world consider the very existence of the Jewish
State
to be provocative.
Slobodan
Milosevic and his
cronies knew that they could slaughter by the thousands and no one
would
lift a finger to stop them. Europe did nothing. Clinton finally allowed
some high altitude bombings, but far too little and far too late.
China
allowed private markets
to grow, as long as they didn’t threaten the power structure and fed
the
military machine. Marxist in name only, China is now a fascist
militaristic
dictatorship that is now drawing upon nationalism to get its people
used
to the idea of inevitable war with the United States. Such a war is
more
possible now that Chinese nuclear missiles have become much more
accurate
and sophisticated, thanks to technology transfers that occurred under
Clinton’s
watch.
When
terrorists struck, Clinton
responded as if they were law enforcement issues rather than acts of
war.
Louis Freeh’s FBI was called in, indicting a few individuals in
absentia.
At least they did something! Clinton would order the odd cruise missile
strike or high-altitude bombing - yielding insignificant results at
best.
America’s enemies saw these as manifestations of impotence and
cowardice.
A few
people warned that being
perceived as weak actually increased our endangerment, but they were
easily
dismissed as hawks, warmongers and kooks.
Terrorists
Strike America - a New President Pursues a Results-Oriented Response
After two terms of Bill
Clinton, a new president was sworn in. There was no honeymoon with the
press. George W. Bush was portrayed at home and abroad as an
inarticulate
bumbler who came into office under a cloud. Seeing such spectacles as
the
American Civil Liberties Union attacking the Boy Scouts while defending
the North American Man-Boy Love Association, our culture and will to
exist
appeared on the verge of collapse. To outsiders, America must have
looked
like a ripe fruit for the picking.
How
could they think otherwise?
We’re still not out of the woods yet, in that regard by the way.
Friend
and foe alike were
surprised at how the America came together when 19 people chose to give
their lives in pursuit of killing thousands of our men, women and
children.
The sleeping giant had been aroused and this time we had a president
who
was willing to do what needed to be done.
This
time there would be no
pin pricks with cruise missiles. This time there would be no United
Nations-approved
war with stalemate left as the best possible outcome. This time
American
military power would cut out the heart of the terrorist apparatus. The
regime that hosted it would also be removed - permanently. Our troops
would
stay there until a free, peaceful nation could be left behind.
If the
terrorists wanted to
scare the United States out of the Mid-East by killing us, they have
achieved
the opposite result.
There
were a few who looked
for blame within and bleated, ‘why do they hate us?’ An even smaller
number
grumbled that we had it coming, but the media knew that the American
people
were ill disposed to listen to the devil’s advocates at that point. For
once, the Blame America First crowd was not taken seriously.
Iraqi
Freedom, International Outrage
The internationalists drew
the line at Iraq, however. There was no ‘immanent threat,’ they said.
The
Bush administration argued that to wait until a threat is immanent
would
be too late. Now the media are telling us that the President had lied
to
the American people and the world when he said there was an immanent
threat
when we know that he never did.
Now
the media are telling
us that the Bush administration painted a rosy picture of how easy it
would
be to march into Iraq and that American soldiers would be welcomed with
open arms. Now we are being told that all that has happened is a big
surprise
for which the Pentagon and White House were ill prepared. Looking back
at actual statements by the President, the National Security Advisor,
the
Secretaries of State and Defense, we see that this is not true.
They
knew that the Iraqi people
had not forgotten about being abandoned to Saddam after the Gulf War.
They
knew that Iraqis would likely hide rather than come out and cheer when
Saddam was gone. They expected paramilitaries. They expected human
shields.
They expected terrorists to come in from outside Iraq’s borders.
Before
the war and in its
early stages, American civilian and military leaders alike cautioned
against
euphoria again and again. Repeatedly Bush and his advisors warned of
further
bloodshed and continued challenges even after the war was over.
We have
been losing one or
two Americans a week in Afghanistan for nearly two years now. That also
was expected. The casualties in Afghanistan are not given anywhere near
as much prominence in the media as those in Iraq. Why is that?
Saddam
had a history of using
chemical weapons on enemies and even his own people. UN experts
repeatedly
testified of evidence that Saddam was developing bioweapons and nukes
as
well.
We were
supposed to wait until
he hit us before stopping him? No way! Finishing a job that should have
been done twelve years ago, Saddam was taken out. Saddam Hussein
started
two wars and killed thousands. He torched over 600 oil wells,
creating
an environmental disaster and economic turmoil throughout the
world.
George
Bush did something
far worse, according to the Illuminati, however. He didn’t follow the
process.
He did not subordinate American foreign policy to an international
body.
Now why would he do that? Does it have anything to do with the UN track
record?
Perhaps
the internationalists
do believe that Iraq would be better off if Saddam were still in power.
But the possibility of human suffering isn’t why Bush is hated for
removing
Saddam the way he did. The fact that the Security Council dithered over
providing humanitarian aid gives a clue to their higher priority.
They
believe that the existence
of sovereign independent nations is the ultimate cause of war. Further,
those who wish to build an ideal society know that it can only be done
under a singular global regime.
There
have been many attempts
to realize Utopia before, especially in twentieth century Europe - the
birthplace of communism and fascism. Khrushchev had repeatedly said
that
there would be no peace so long as freedom lived somewhere in the
world.
Utopians know that their policies require tyranny and cause poverty.
That’s
harder to take for the people if they see others free and
prosperous.
This is
why such people hate
America.
Who
are the Elites and What Do They Want?
This country is not what
it used to be, that is certain. Nonetheless, the United States of
America
is still the greatest nation that the world has ever seen. The reason
you
all know this is because you see this country firsthand - warts and all
- with open hearts and minds. You have come to be skeptical of what you
are told by the media and in the classroom. Your being here proves that
you have made an extra effort to find out what has been distorted or
ignored
about this country.Your being here proves that you
love America and the American people.
For
others this love is
not so automatic, because the knowledge that you have is not widely
available.
If your only source of knowledge were the media and educational elites,
you would hate America as they do. The foreign media and schools are
even
worse. You have to work extra hard just to find the truth today. We can
understand why some people would hate America if they rely exclusively
upon what is fed to them from above.
There
are those who do know
better and they control the reins of information. They decide what is
news
and how it will be presented. They decide what will be emphasized and
what
will be ignored. They decide what will be taught in grade school, high
school and college. They write and choose the textbooks, holding sway
in
the classroom - praising those who go along and humiliating those who
do
not.
They
also dominate the entertainment
industry - showing us, the American people, what they really think of
us.
Some Americans see this and think that this is a true picture and try
and
emulate it in order to fit in. This is especially true for young
people.
They are also presenting their image of America to the rest of the
world.
They
call themselves Progressives,
arrogantly asserting that theirs is the way of the future. Those who
disagree
with them are portrayed as Neanderthals fighting against the tide of
history
– turning back the clock. How lucky are we to have these Superior
Beings
amongst us to show which way the clock is running! How blessed are we
to
have these Philosopher Kings to guide America into Paradise on Earth –
whether we like it or not!
The
Silent Majority Fights Back
Being anointed as they are
with the ability to correctly read the tealeaves of history, they
cannot
tolerate an alternative message. Theirs is the orthodoxy throughout the
Western world today. There is a threat to the realization of Utopia and
it stands before me now. It is you. It is all of you who question their
vision.
The
harpies of the Brave
New World recognize that a wide gulf in fundamental values separates
them
from the American people. The majority of Americans are committed to
the
survival and growth of freedom. We hold that individuals are
responsible
for their own actions. We believe that people are entitled to keep what
they earn and are ultimately obligated to secure their own welfare and
protection.
We say
that this country was
founded upon noble ideals that must not only be preserved, but also be
made to flourish. We believe that this country is worth defending and
recognize
that lives must sometimes be put at risk to do so. We honor those who
unhesitatingly
shed blood for the rest of us.
President
Nixon was right
when he spoke of a Silent Majority that exists in America. The core of
our society is represented by the likes of architects, bookkeepers,
truck
drivers and fire fighters. We are people who are not privileged to
repose
in the rarified atmosphere of the cultural elites. We are instead
consigned
to fend for ourselves armed only with our common sense and basic
decency.
Many of us are not on top of the latest trends in fashion, but we know
right from wrong. We also know when someone’s trying to sell us snake
oil.
One bit
of snake oil that
the elites have been selling is that they are the ones who are on the
cutting
edge, building a plan for a modern society. By implication we who
advocate
for freedom are to be regarded as old fashioned – holding on to
nostalgic
dreams of a dark past better forgotten. I am here to tell you that they
are the reactionaries.
Don’t
let them get away with
calling themselves Progressive. They are the ones who believe that a
cadre
of elites should be more equal than others. They are the ones who think
that they know what’s best for everyone else. They believe that their
superiority
gives them the right to lord over us uneducated masses, telling us only
what they think we need to know. This stale tyrannical mindset is
actually
centuries old.
Don’t
let them get away with
calling themselves Liberals. There’s nothing liberal about seeking to
silence
dissent. There’s nothing liberal about distorting education and news
coverage
for the purposes of indoctrination.
I am
here to tell you that
freedom is the most forward-looking idea. Freedom is the most optimal
human
condition, not a planned Utopia. We are the ones who seek a bright
future
based upon the knowledge that freedom is a right we are all born with.
Seeking the growth of freedom for the whole world is the true path to
global
peace and prosperity.
We must
all do our part to
expose the would-be dictators for what they are. We must all do our
part
to keep America free and prosperous. I know that you will.
